Women Education Development Program
The Women Education Development and Leadership Skill Program is the flagship program of RWU.  The program is designed to equip women leaders to work effectively in  the essential interests of Rakhaing State, and to progress women's participation in politics and decision-making in local, national and international spheres.

Each year, between 8 and 10 young Rakhaing men and women are selected from Rakhaing State, Bangladesh, and border areas to participate in the program.  The program has two levels.  After completing the first phase of basic skills (1 year), the students study more specialized courses in the Leadership Training Program, such as gender issues, UN mechanisms, the future Federal Constitution of Burma, advocacy and lobbying, and environmental protection, as well as continuing their English and Bangla language studies.  The Education Development Program has been running for 7 years.

Graduates of the program become community leaders, developers, NGO workers, medics and teachers, working for the medical, social, educational and legal benefit of Rakhaing communities in the Indo-Bangla-Burma area.
