Reproductive Healthcare Program for Adolescent Refugees
RWU organized the Reproductive Healthcare Program for Adolescent Refugees along the western Burmese border in 2004. The program teaches Rakhaing youth about HIV/AIDS prevention, their right to make responsible decisions, and family planning.
Health Educator Training
In 2006, the RWU gave Health Educator Training in collaboration the the NHEC (National Health Education Committee). The training lasted for 2 weeks and provided border community leaders with basic health information and health assessment techniques. The RWU will offer this training again next year, with the assistance of other local medical teams and backpack medics from the Cynthia Maung Clinic.
Health Clinic
In 2007, the RWU plans to open a public health clinic near the border, in Cox's Bazaar, in order to make professional medical care more accessible to impoverished Rakhaing and indigenous Bangladeshi communities.
